A little worn, but in pretty good shape overall. Can't wait to read it to my grandchildren.
This is a great childrens' folktale written in mountain dialect. It tells the story of an old woman who has had a dreadful curse placed upon her. She visits the Willy-Nilly Man, a disagreeable hermit who has magical powers. See how she uses her blackberry jam to coerce the Willy-Nilly Man into helping her out of her "jam!"
My mother received the book after it was written from her friend, Jill Wright. She read it to us often and told it in story telling fashion more times than I can count. I am currently taking a Children's Literature class and we have to do a character portrayal for our final. I knew there was no other choice than the Old Woman! It is such a great story with wonderful pictures and I love how full of life the old lady is. Thanks so much, Jill for your amazing book.

We got this book at the library and my son asks me to read it to him every night! He loves the country jargon and the all of the things in the Willy Nilly mans beard. He also loves that the Old Woman puts alot of "stuff" in her "blackbury jam" to "fix the Willy Nilly Man!" This is a great book.
Another FUN Book to read to your kids. It is fun to read this book with a southern accent. My kids LOVED this and I loved reading it to them!
