Freeing Asia is a great lovely book. This book has a great heroine in Asia Fuller and two HOT GORGEOUS MEN, Jay Clark and Marcus Avery vying for the attention of Asia. Both men are complete opposites one wears suits and one is comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt but both have one thing in common ASIA.The supporting cast were awesome!!! There were plenty of sweet, hot intense scenes and LOL moments in this book.

What I love about this book is that Asia, is not your typical blonde or brunette heroine.She is half Japanese and half American. Its refreshing to have an Asian American as the main character since there aren't many books which has that. Asia is smart, funny, beautiful, sexy, talented, lovable, a tomboy and is surrounded by great family and friends. There are two gorgeous men, who were smitten and enamored over Asia Jay and Marcus. What i especially love about this book is that there is never a love triangle and no cheating. Jay, is rich, gorgeous, and is being trained to be CEO for his father's company. He was a total sweetheart to Asia and had me swooning. They had plenty of hot moments. As her relationship with Jay progressed, Asia found herself conforming to the image of what Jay wanted and needed her to be and that wasn't her. Marcus, on the other-hand was her first love and her brother, Shaun's best friend. Marcus is a professional skateboarder and business owner of a skateboard and surf shop. He broke her heart in the past and was suddenly re-entering her life after 7 years being away. Marcus knew and understood the real Asia. He accepted her as she was and was constantly reminding her how f***ing amazing and beautiful she was.They too had plenty of HOT and STEAMY moments together. Both men knew Asia was special, beautiful and cared for her.

This book is about Asia and her self-discovery of who she is and being comfortable in your skin. Its about her finding herself through loss, heartache and love. Its about her opening her heart and breaking down the walls and fears surrounding her heart. In order for her to be free, she had to learn to love herself, face her fears and let love in. She learns through both Jay and Marcus, how talented and and amazing she is. Throughout the book, readers see the changes and character growth development of Asia. I find that not only, Asia learns to be free but also Jay and Marcus as well. Jay, learns what he wants to do professionally in life and what makes him happy. Marcus, learns to in order to be free he must learn to let people in. In a way, all three characters are learning to find their way to be FREE.

What i did not like about this book was the constant weed smoking. I felt it was too much for my taste.

Overall, i would rate this book 4.5. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this book. I thought E.M. Abel did a great job in bringing a great main and supporting cast. i found myself liking all the characters.
I have never read a book that was so hard to rate. I feel like this book should be cut into 2 parts in order to rate it properly. So that' s just what I'm gonna do.

The first 40% I almost quit reading a half a dozen times. Seriously. I could not understand why people were giving this book 4 and 5 stars. This part of the book involves meeting Asia. She is sort of a tomboy as she spent most of her life around her brothers and her dad. Asia has a make-over and BAM, she is a hot mamma. Suddenly she is being hit on by rich, attractive Jay. Jay owns some super hot club (of course) and is planning on taking over his dad's job as a CEO of something or other. Jay and Asia develop an instant relationship. Seriously, they were only together for 1 week and things were moving fast. And in that time he insisted that she go shopping with his credit card. After 1 week! Come one! Their relationship felt rushed and under developed. Jay felt under developed. And there is probably a good reason for that as I see book 3 in this series is about him. My rating for this part is 1 star.

After 40% I loved this part of the book! Around 40% is when Marcus, her brother's best friend, comes back into her life. Marcus and Asia sort of had a fling when they were in high school. Marcus spent a lot of time at their house as he didn't have a good family life. Asia always had strong feelings towards him but she never thought he saw her as anything other than "one of the guys". But it turns out Marcus sees her as much more than that. I was impressed with Asia's character as she was strong and independent. Something we don't see quite enough of in contemporary romances. There were also a few funny scenes. The farting scene had me cracking up. I gave this part of the book 4-5 stars.

Finally, I was a little weirded out by how much pot smoking the main characters did. This felt like it was constant and throughout the whole book. I'm not sure how many readers can actually sympathize with a character that smokes so much marijuana. Truthfully, it made Asia look kinda childish and lazy. I know Asia had a job but her recreational pot smoking was mentioned a whole lot more. And maybe this won't bother other readers. But it annoyed me.

I based my final star rating on splitting the difference between 1 and 5 stars. Hopefully, the other books in this series will be more like the second half of this book.
